Crast doesn't decide whether someone's working, it just automates desktop activity. Plenty of legitimate work involves little or no keyboard or mouse input, and someone could just as easily move a mouse around all day without getting anything done.

No. Crast runs locally on your Windows computer. It doesn't record your files, screenshots, browsing history, or personal documents as part of its normal operation.

Yes. Once it's activated, the core functionality runs locally on your computer. You only need internet for license validation, downloading updates, or support features.

When it's set up correctly, yes. Crast mixes mouse movement, real keyboard taps, browser tab switching, and app switching on independently adjustable schedules, instead of one repetitive motion on a loop, which is what actually gets flagged. Using extreme, unrealistic settings (maxing everything out at once, for example) makes any activity look artificial no matter what's generating it. Set within reasonable, human-like ranges, Crast is designed to blend in.

Yes, Crast is legal software. That said, laws, employment agreements, contractor agreements, and workplace policies vary a lot between organizations and countries. It's on you to make sure how you use it complies with whatever agreements and policies apply to you.

A lot of remote professionals work from their own personal computers, especially Filipino VAs working for international clients. These clients and companies often don't provide equipment, but still require software that captures screenshots, app usage, activity logs, and more, right off your personal property.

Every worker and every organization has different expectations around monitoring and privacy. Crast doesn't take a side on that. It just gives you more control over your own desktop environment.

Not necessarily. A lot of knowledge work, reading, researching, designing, planning, sitting in meetings, working through hard problems, involves long stretches with barely any keyboard or mouse input.

And the reverse is true too: nonstop keyboard and mouse activity doesn't automatically mean real work is happening.

Crast starts from the idea that desktop activity is just one measure of computer use, not the full picture of productivity, and it shouldn't be used to unfairly judge a worker's worth.

Crast runs hidden with no visible window during normal use. It's controlled entirely through global hotkeys and a small system tray icon that always shows the current status. The control panel only appears when you explicitly open it.

No. Every license includes free updates for life. As Crast gets better, new features ship, or bugs get fixed, you get all of it through the in-app "Check for Update" button at no extra cost, for as long as you own your license.
