Privacy Policy
Last updated July 17, 2026. Here's exactly what Crast collects, and what it doesn't.
What this covers
This policy explains what information Crast (the app) and crastapp.com (this website) collect, and what happens to it. It doesn't cover license terms, refunds, or acceptable use, that's the End User License Agreement, which you can review at time of purchase.
What Crast does not collect
Crast runs 100% locally on your computer. During normal use, whether that's Auto Mode, Manual Mode, browser tab switching, or app switching, it does not record, store, or transmit:
- Your files or documents
- Screenshots of your screen
- Browsing history or page content
- Keystrokes you actually type, or anything else you do
None of that ever leaves your computer, because none of it is collected in the first place.
License activation
The only time Crast talks to our servers during normal use is to check your license. When you activate:
- Crast sends your license code and a device fingerprint, a one-way hash built from hardware identifiers like your motherboard serial, not personally identifying on its own.
- Our server checks the code is valid and hasn't exceeded its device limit, then confirms activation.
- The result is cached locally on your device so Crast doesn't need to check in every time it starts.
Purchasing a license
After payment, you'll be asked for an email address so we can send you your license key. That email is stored alongside your license code so we can help you if you lose your key, need to free up a device slot, or have a billing question. We don't sell or share it with third parties.
Check for Update
The in-app "Check for Update" button asks our server for the current version number and download link. No personal or device data is sent for this, it's just a version check.
Report Issue
If you use the in-app "Report Issue" button, we receive your app version and whatever message you write, nothing else is attached automatically. Only include what you're comfortable sharing.
This website
crastapp.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages get read. It's cookie-free: no cookies are set, no cross-site tracking, and no personal profile is built about who you are, it only reports aggregate visit counts. We don't use any other analytics, ad trackers, or third-party scripts. If that ever changes, for example if we add a mailing list signup, we'll update this page to reflect it.
Data retention & security
License and activation records are kept for as long as your license stays active, so we can keep validating it and supporting you. We take reasonable steps to keep this data secure, but no system can be guaranteed against every possible risk.
Your choices
Want to know what we hold, or want it removed? Email support@crastapp.com and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Crast changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.
